In a meaningful step towards strengthening foundational education for rural students, PARD INDIA,in collaboration with IRCON int.Ltd., a prominent voluntary organization, reopens its After School Education Program (ASEP) at Main Elementary School, Yernagudem in Devarapalli Mandal. The program was formally inaugurated by Headmistress Smt. Ramalakshmi.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramalakshmi appreciated the decade-long commitment of PARD INDIA and IRCON int, Ltd., supporting students from government schools by providing additional academic guidance after school hours, along with free educational materials. She emphasized that students should make the best use of this opportunity to enhance their learning outcomes.
Somashetty Venkatarao, a senior member of PARD INDIA, highlighted that ASEP is being implemented across various government schools in both Telugu-speaking states. He noted the significant role of IRCON in supporting this initiative and added that founder B.V. Swami is working tirelessly to expand the program to reach more students in need.
The event witnessed the participation of teachers Mahesh, Sudhakar, Vishnu, and Bethala Nagamani, along with PARD INDIA members Devaraju, Achyutaravu, Dhulipudi Ravindra, and Satyanarayana.
The ASEP initiative continues to inspire educational empowerment among underserved students, making a real difference in rural education.
The main objectives of the “After School Education Program” address the needs of the children for their overall development and empowerment through the power of education. This intervention will play a decisive role in achieving the following SDGs of 2030 at the grassroots:
- SDG-1 (No Poverty)
- SDG-4 (Quality Education)
- SDG-5 (Gender Equality) and
- SDG-10 (Reduced Inequalities)
PARD INDIA is in a CSR partnership with M/s IRCON International Ltd, New Delhi, a Government of India Undertaking (Navaratna Company) under the Ministry of Railways to implement the “After School Education Program” under the READ Project. This project will support about 200 V-kids in ten (10) Government Primary Schools for twelve (12) months starting from October 2024.
Our “V-kids” are those children hailing from rural backgrounds who are often denied equal opportunities in their upbringing, study environment, and exposure to the competitive world.
