The 116th birth anniversary of Saint Mother Teresa was celebrated with a series of humanitarian and service activities at Pallantla village in Devarapalli Mandal, East Godavari district, and at Yernagudem.
At Pallantla, the program was jointly organized by Shalom Seva Sanstha and PARD INDIA UCM. PARD INDIA Manager Somisetti Venkata Rao, Balusu Satyanarayana, ASHA workers and members of the organizing organizations participated in the celebrations.
The statue of Mother Teresa was decorated with flowers, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Balusu Satyanarayana, State Convenor of the Manavatha Seva Sanstha, recalled Mother Teresa’s lifelong commitment to serving poor, homeless, sick and vulnerable people. He said her humanitarian work continues to inspire people across the world.
Eduri David, President of Shalom Seva Sanstha, expressed gratitude to PARD INDIA and UCM for their support in organizing the 116th birth anniversary celebrations. He highlighted Mother Teresa’s contribution to humanitarian service and said her work had inspired people across many countries.
As part of the celebrations, flavored rice packets and sweets were distributed. Women who participated in various games and competitions were presented with prizes. Blankets, rice, vegetables, pulses, and saplings were also distributed to elderly people and other beneficiaries.
A free medical camp was organized with the support of Janatha Hospital, Devarapalli. Local residents were provided with free medical check-ups and medicines.
Shalom Seva Sanstha President Eduri David, E. Jessie, A. Mohan, N. Tejas, T. Indira Lilly, C.H. Shanthi, members of the United Pastors UCM Seva Association and other volunteers participated in the program.
At Yernagudem, PARD INDIA also organized a special program to mark the 116th birth anniversary of Saint Mother Teresa, a recipient of the Bharat Ratna and Nobel Peace Prize.
Members of PARD INDIA and volunteers paid floral tributes at Mother Teresa’s statue. Senior journalist Dhulipudi Ravindra, PARD INDIA member Somisetti Venkata Rao, members of the Prema Seva Auto Union, students and other participants attended the program.
The celebrations highlighted Mother Teresa’s message of compassion, service and care for disadvantaged communities, with participants remembering her contribution to humanitarian service.
