PARD INDIA relaunched its “After School Education Program” at the READ Center in MPP-2 School in Nallajarla, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, on 28 October 2024, supporting the after-school education needs of about 20 V-kids studying 4th & 5th classes.
The school administration, local communities, our village team, and volunteers unwaveringly supported the project's launch. Chief guests – village Sarpanch Mrs. Palli Jyothi and Retired Engineer Mr. Kora Kannayya, spoke about the importance of education and appreciated PARD INDIA's efforts to empower children at the grassroots.
The proposed READ Center is structured to empower deprived children (V-kids), focusing on their holistic development at the study level. It lays the foundation for a child's future academic success. By receiving a high-quality education during their early years, children develop essential skills such as reading, writing, and numerical proficiency crucial for their ongoing learning journey.
PARD INDIA launched its “After School Education Program” at this school for the first time on 4th December 2014. As of 31st March 2024, we have provided 37,992 e-hours of free education to 116 children (V-kids) of this school's 4th and 5th classes.
The main objectives of the “After School Education Program” address the needs of the children for their overall development and empowerment through the power of education. This intervention will play a decisive role in achieving the following SDGs of 2030 at the grassroots:
- SDG-1 (No Poverty)
- SDG-4 (Quality Education)
- SDG-5 (Gender Equality) and
- SDG-10 (Reduced Inequalities)
PARD INDIA is in a CSR partnership with M/s IRCON International Ltd, New Delhi, a Government of India Undertaking (Navaratna Company) under the Ministry of Railways to implement the “After School Education Program” under the READ Project. This project will support about 200 V-kids in ten (10) Government Primary Schools for twelve (12) months starting from October 2024.
Our “V-kids” are those children hailing from rural backgrounds who are often denied equal opportunities in their upbringing, study environment, and exposure to the competitive world.
