PARD INDIA, in partnership with IRCON International Limited, has launched the "After School Education Program" at Government Primary School in Kuntlur village, Abdullahpurmet Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana on 4th November 2024. This initiative is designed to support about 40 underprivileged V-kids who face challenges in regular education.
The inauguration was graced by Ward 22 Councilor, Mr. Chevulla Harishankar, who commended the program for blending education with creativity to nurture young minds. He highlighted the program’s potential to significantly enhance students’ learning experiences and foster their overall development. Prominent local dignitaries, including Mandal Education Officer (MEO), Mr. Jagadeesh and Secretary (PARD INDIA Hyderabad Unit), Mr. B. Brahmaiah, attended the event and expressed their appreciation for this thoughtful initiative. Both acknowledged the importance of providing academic support and fostering an environment where children can thrive despite challenges.
The program represents a critical step in PARD INDIA’s mission to ensure access to education for all even after school hours. By focusing on interactive and creative methods, the initiative stands as a testament to their commitment to empowering children from disadvantaged backgrounds and helping them realize their full potential. By engaging the children in activities like games, songs, and storytelling, reading, gardening, etc, the program aims to make learning enjoyable and improve students' interest in academics.
The main objectives of the “After School Education Program” address the needs of the children for their overall development and empowerment through the power of education. This intervention will play a decisive role in achieving the following SDGs of 2030 at the grassroots:
- SDG-1 (No Poverty)
- SDG-4 (Quality Education)
- SDG-5 (Gender Equality) and
- SDG-10 (Reduced Inequalities)
PARD INDIA is in a CSR partnership with M/s IRCON International Ltd, New Delhi, a Government of India Undertaking (Navaratna Company) under the Ministry of Railways to implement the “After School Education Program” under the READ Project. This project will support about 200 V-kids in ten (10) Government Primary Schools for twelve (12) months starting from October 2024.
Our “V-kids” are those children hailing from rural backgrounds who are often denied equal opportunities in their upbringing, study environment, and exposure to the competitive world.
