PARD INDIA opened its READ center to implement the “After School Education Program” for the first time on 28 October 2024 at MPP School in Pullalapadu village, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. The center supports after-school education needs of about 35 V-kids studying 4th class.
The opening ceremony was graced by the village sarpanch, Mr. Alluri Suryachandra Rao, who expressed his delight at the initiative and pledged the panchayat's full support to ensure its success. The headmaster of the school also encouraged students to utilize the support and guidance provided through this program.
The proposed project shall be structured to empower deprived children (V-kids), focusing on their holistic development primarily at the study level. It lays the foundation for a child's future academic success. By receiving a quality education during their early years, children develop essential skills such as reading, writing, and numerical proficiency, which are crucial for their ongoing learning journey.
The main objectives of the “After School Education Program” address the needs of the children for their overall development and empowerment through the power of education. This intervention will play a decisive role in achieving the following SDGs of 2030 at the grassroots:
- SDG-1 (No Poverty)
- SDG-4 (Quality Education)
- SDG-5 (Gender Equality) and
- SDG-10 (Reduced Inequalities)
PARD INDIA is in a CSR partnership with M/s IRCON International Ltd, New Delhi, a Government of India Undertaking (Navaratna Company) under the Ministry of Railways to implement the “After School Education Program” under the READ Project. This project will support about 200 V-kids in ten (10) Government Primary Schools for twelve (12) months starting from October 2024.
Our “V-kids” are those children hailing from rural backgrounds who are often denied equal opportunities in their upbringing, study environment, and exposure to the competitive world.
