The World Tailors Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the PARD INDIA Sewing Center in Nallajerla village, organized by PARD INDIA and Jayam Solutions. The event honored the dedication and craftsmanship of tailors, highlighting their contributions to society.
Dr. Siraj Uddin MD, Medical Officer of Nallajerla Primary Health Center, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He appreciated PARD INDIA’s efforts in women’s empowerment through skill-based training programs.
The event was presided over by Ambati Srinivasa Rao, National President of PARD INDIA. Local leaders, including Sharif, Pachigolla Srinivas, Gudapati Nagaraju, Prasad, Somashetty Venkatarao, and Galinki Hemakumar, along with tailoring instructor Krishnaveni and sewing center trainees, participated actively. A ceremonial cake-cutting added joy to the celebration.
The celebration emphasized the role of tailoring as a sustainable livelihood option, particularly for underprivileged women. Beneficiaries of the Power of Sewing initiative shared their success stories, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to learn and earn through tailoring. Many women who previously lacked financial independence are now supporting their families with dignity.
As part of the event, PARD INDIA officials announced plans to expand sewing training centers to more rural areas, enabling greater outreach. The guests also encouraged the trainees to take full advantage of the program and become entrepreneurs in the tailoring industry. The event concluded with a networking session, where participants discussed future opportunities and collaborations.
