My name is Vamishetty Kusuma Durga. I studied up to 10th grade and am currently staying at home with no regular work. However, I always had a strong desire not to remain idle and instead find a way to earn some income, however small that could support my parents.
Coming from a lower-middle-class family, I have seen firsthand how difficult it is to make ends meet. My father’s income was never enough to meet our household expenses. I often felt a strong urge to help and share his burden in some meaningful way.
One day, I heard an auto campaign conducted by PARD India about their Free Tailoring Training Camp. Through this awareness drive, I came to know that they not only offer tailoring training but also teach embroidery, hand stitching, and even basic computer courses. I was surprised and delighted by the opportunity and decided to join without delay.
The Free Tailoring Course spanned three months, and during this period, I learned a wide range of skills from hand stitching to operating sewing machines. I can now stitch dresses, gowns, Punjabi suits, and all kinds of women’s clothing. I also learned to make kids' frocks, shirts, Gagra's, and even long frocks for elder children.
The trainers at the tailoring camp were incredibly patient and supportive, ensuring that we understood every concept clearly. I am deeply thankful to them.
Today, I am proud to say that I am standing on my own feet. I am now able to contribute financially to my household and reduce the burden on my father. This opportunity has changed my life by making me self-reliant and confident.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to PARD INDIA and M/s Jayam Solutions for providing such a life-changing opportunity. Learning tailoring has not only empowered me with a skill but also offered me a means to support my family and dream of a brighter future.
